Just wondering if anyone has tried 86' tri-z fork springs in an 86' 250r? They are quite a bit stiffer and I have read that they are supposed to be an upgrade for an 85' 250r, but I wasn't sure if there were any issues using them in an 86' R.
l'm currently running progressives w/10wt. fork oil at the level specified by progressive in the 250r w/no air pressure. Both the factory springs and progressives feel too mushy and dive under braking and in corners on the 250r while my Z is much more firm with little to no dive, but still pretty plush with better bottoming resistance than the stock R springs. I don't currently run any fork spring spacers in any of my machines.
Also, I have a clymer shop manual instead of a Honda one. Does a factory Honda manual list nominal/minimum/maximum fork oil levels like the Yamaha oem manuals do? I wanted to give this a try because I have 2 sets of 86' tri-z forks for parts and already have the springs on hand.
Thanks for any input.
