the pic is a screenshot of the craigslist ad. can anyone recognize the header?
I showed the ad to a few non trike people and they think I'm nuts.
I saw a aftermarket exhaust, both front and rear fenders, a rear rack and a pull start plus front brake hub with rim..
I talked to the owner, the front hub does have the axle, the motor spins freely. he has a extra wheel tire and hub for the rear. the big question is the seat pan. But with the rack, he can't take the fender or seat off.
okay I've got 185s and 200s trikes so I'm just thinking parts or get it running, right? well 150 bucks and he's 45 minutes away, why not.
I get there, we stuck 2 rear tires on it but the dang rear is stuck! bearings? brakes? We'll see. ign switch is there, throttle is there and carb is free, front brake cable works, front brake on the hubs is free. has a headlight, air box is there, I think the trike is a 81. For a extra 10 bucks I grabbed a 110 front wheel, hub and axle (no brakes).
Maybe not the best deal of the year, but this gives me fenders and seat for another 185s (there's 2 more projects in the yard) Or just get the thing to roll and just get it running, why not? jim

no complaints, just have to find place to store it all and decide which trike to work on next. New eBay headlight showed up for my 200s. jim

had a little time this afternoon, the 110 wheel, hub needed a little wd40 and a big pair of plyers to get loosened, bolted the front tire on, put the back of the trike on a block, released the brake tension on the rear and got to rocking the tires until they freed up some. but the rear spins! drilled a wooden dowl to make a handle and gave it a pull. has compression! pulled the plug, looks new but no spark,
grabbed a old plug and grounded it, pulled, hey! there's spark! the original carb looks really filthy. I just got a china p27 for a back up carb on Friday, bolted it on and she runs! no smoke! put the rear on a jacket and, threw it in gear to loosen the back up some more.
I pulled the rack and rear fender off, front of the hook part of the seat pan is present, looking under the plastic I see plywood so the pans been rebuilt with wood in the middle.
Now to sort out the complete trikes, project trikes and what becomes stuff to trade off.
If I had room, I'd start a you tube channel on 185s and 200s trikes which seems to be the most common. jim

for $150, I think that's a great score. I support it!
