Hello guys, so I’ve got a 84 250r, was wondering if there’s any way for me to register it and even get insurance on it, I’ve heard rumours you can’t do either. Give me a shout if you know, thanks Greyson

If you don't have an ownership for it, go to the mto and get a sellers package for it. It will tell you if it was registered as stolen and the history of owners. Then you have to try and contact the last owner to see if they will give you a bill of sale. If you have no luck with that route, your next option is to get a affidavit stating how you acquired the atc. You can find out more info on the MTO website. You can get plate and insurance for them.

I registered my 200m in Ontario before I moved, was kind of a pain. I remember having to go to the honda dealer and have them sign an affidavit checking the VIN, etc. Had to also have a bill of sale, which came from my grandfather as he is the one who I got the ATC from. It was an annoying process but I didnt have too much trouble getting the title for it. Call your local MTO and have them explain it to you, just tell them its a quad instead of 3 wheeler.

There is a guy on kijiji offering this service. I just got an ownership for my 250r from him. The cost is 180 plus the used vehicle package, plus the sales tax.All I had to do was go to the townhall, get an affidavit signed the cost was 25.00 He sends all the paperwork for you to fill in, then mailed all the paperwork back to him, and he does the rest. I didn't have to go to the ministry at all. My total cost was 275.00 for everything including the off road plate.

You can do it all on your own, it's not difficult at all. BTW, many MPs, MPPs, and city councillors can commission your affidavit for free.

self declaration of ownership form from service ontario or a affidavit also done at service ontario
