I have seen these on dirtbikes before. I think it is to give the fender more support so it doesnt break as easy.

Well...I like the look of it on my 350X. That one in the auction is all bent up though. Oh, and they are especially useful if you have a front fender extender. Ummm... so yeah... what's the latest on that? :? Shoot me a PM please!

It looks like it's for a 200x.

Yup... that auction is for a 200X.
Yes, that's my plan. I just placed the empty dash on to see how it would look. Just haven't got around to it yet, as you can see the Speedo mounted on the Right Fork.
For some reason, Honda designed the Speedo and Tach mounts to go on the the forks in the smae place with different brackets. I bought that dash off a CB400 with the old gauges and ignition switch, hoping to swap in my 350X Speedo and Tach. I just haven't got around to it yet, as it's not a 'Plug in Play' like I hoped. The tach mounts at an angle (posts are not horizontal) and I will need a longer Speedometer cable, since it will need to be mounted on the Left side. Anyone know where I can get a longer speedometer cable??? I also have a friend in PA who's having the same problem mounting both. He's designing his own dash to mount both Speedo and Tach. I'll keep you all informed.
