Custom Tri-Z 250

This winter I'm building a tribute to the Tri-Z 250 using a modern YZ motor, BVC swingarm, CRF250F RSU 41mm forks, custom frame, custom triples and front hub, and YZ250 brakes.

Below is the 2 piece hub I machined on a manual mill.

If you've put that much effort into just one hub, I HAVE to see the entire thing when it's done! It will be spectacular. I think the modern engine with a power valve will make it a completely different machine.

Very nice!! What made you go with the non-inverted forks? They look nice and big compared to what was put on trikes from the factory.

Expense was the main reason. These are 41mm diameter off a 2021+ CRF250F. You can buy them new from a parts house for $195 per leg. They are legit Showa forks. If this project works out I will send them to someone for a revalve to my riding sytle and weight. For some reason they only have 8.5" of travel, the CRF230F had 9.5" of travel, but the diameter was only 37mm. I was sold on the rigidity of the 41mm forks and less concerned about getting to the 10" magic number that the final year vintage 2 stroke trikes obtained.
