so the 200x frame got traded off this morning. I traded it for a 200s project, its pretty complete, no tank, had axle. So as we are shooting the bull, we go to look for a good axle, theres one on a suspended 185s and another regular 185s. so the gent says just take the other 185s for the axle, I ask about the suspended 185s and bougjt it for 50 bucks. so I get rid of a 200x project frame, end up with 1
200s and 2 185s projects. I think he got the better deal getting rid of 3 trikes. now to try to find some room. jim

Very cool. Let's see some pics of the suspended 185, I'd say you stole it for $50

my side of the yard, 2-200s, 2 suspended 185s, 1 185s, 1 350x and a 70 chevelle, 2 185s and a atc70 in the shed with a 66 chevelle.
I really need to figure out what to keep, what to sell and what to toss. Even the 1 wheeled trike I bought last weekend, I thought I stripped everything usable, swapped the parts to the 200s frame and the left over was getting ready to be scrapped. Oops the rubber snubbers for the seat was missing on the latest 200s, so I pulled them and the only thing left is tube frame parts. jim

Don't get rid of the suspended 185. They have WAY too much cool factor! Use the others for parts for it if you have to.

I like that adjustable trike work stand. I've got a U-Haul brand one.

looks like I need to make a list of who gets worked on first and which trike gets parts etc.
I've got 5 185s trikes, 3 rear fenders and 2 seats and maybe 4 tanks.
2 200s trikes, 1 seat 1 fender maybe 1 tank.
I've got a extra axle for the bad 200s axle, missing 1 suspended front axle 1 extra suspended fork and 1 solid front fork
1 pair of 200x hubs, 2 new tires and aluminum wheels for 1 trike, regular 4 and 3 lug hubs and a few matching rims, just no good tires.
maybe just put all the parts on the 200s and make it into a runner. then clean the fence line, get hubs and rims on the 185s trikes and set them on jack stands, start with the suspended trike, get it running, then move the carb and pu start to the next one, get it running then over to the next.
like my other post about what's considered too far gone, I don't think any of these are too far gone, just needs plastics, seat and tires. The guy we traded, has a bunch of tanks, he's suppose to weld then back up and suppose to call when thyer ready so I can pick them up. jim

Tires? I figure that every new to me trike needs three tires. That just seems to be one of those laws made by that Murphy guy.

I was out staring at the mess and just got overwhelmed. while starting with the suspended 185 would be cool. I've got plastics and a seat for the 200s. So the smart thing would be to complete 1 of the 200s trikes first.

okay, started a little progress, I started looking for seats and plastics for my 85 200s project, which I traded for. this 84 200s was thrown in with the deal. so I recovered the seat, ordered 3 new knobbies but I've got 2 like new 20 11x8 tires so the 20 inch tires are going on the back of the 84, i do have a decent rear fender, good tank, I don't have a front fender for a sprung front forks but I do have a nice 350x front fender. a small adapter plate, and I'll mount the plate to the forks, mount the fender to the plate. Replace the cord on the recoil, add the switches and harness of the other beater and it should be running!.
That leaves the suspended 185s, it's running, just need a seat. so it's 3 185s, 1 200s 1 350x and 1 atc7
that leaves 1 185s, suspended 185s and a 200s. these will be lacking wheels, tanks, seats and plastics. Most would consider them parts, im just not ready to give up on them yet. jim

so I sent a pic of the seat to the guy I got the 3 frames from. He texts back hey I found more parts for those things, come by and get them.
3 4 lug hubs, 4 3 lug hubs, 6 4 lug wheels 2 3 lug wheels thumb throttle, ign switch, front axle for a solid fork, 2 front brakes, some tires (didn't I just buy 3 tires?) So now I've got hubs, brakes, axles and rubber for all the projects! jim

new tires came in today, installed one on a 4 lug 2 piece wheel, grabbed a pair of solid rims I picked up the other day and for some nagging reason I decided to make sure the bolt pattern would fit a 200s hub. Nope! no idea what the wheels came off if but not a 200s. So I installed the like new 20 11 x8 tires on 3 lug rims since I've got hubs to match. So hopefully Sunday get the 200s on 3 wheels
have new brake lever and perches ordered. When I talked to the guy I got all this junk from the other day, he told his kids couldn't understand why he got rid of the 200s
The kids said there's nothing wrong with the trike, they just needed tires for one of the other toys so they pulled the wheels off it. So hopefully it runs decent. after it's on 3 wheels, I'll probably steal a recoil off another trike just to get it running. jim

Another suspended S! You lucky dog you. Must be more of those custom jobs out your way Jim. I've looked high and low for one around here. I missed out on a truckload of 200x parts a couple years ago and I kick myself every time I think of it. I need to either build a suspended trike or go buy one of the shaft drive trikes. If a guy was going to hit ebay for a swing arm and axle setup which would be the easiest to fabricate mounts for? I would hate to hack up a working trike and end up with something that isnt trailable.
Merry Christmas everyone..or Happy Holidays if that's your thing!

looking at the frames, it's just cutting off the extra support, weld a plate for the pivot to each side and bolt the swing arm and make a shock mount. jim
