SO I have a street-legal 185s and I need to add a battery. I got a factory battery box but I have no idea where it goes. Does anyone have a picture of one mounted?

You'll have to invent a place since they didn't come with a battery when new.

I built one and welded it into the tail between the tail light and airbox on my 200x, you could do something similar

I have the factory optional battery box but it comes with no instructions and I can't figure out where it goes.

the 185s, did not require a battery. why would it be optional? or why would you need it?
where did you get it this box? are you sure it isn't for a different bike, or a goki conversion or something?

Here is a link to a thread about it. There is a picture that somewhat describes where it should go.

MrConcdid, There was an option you could buy from honda to add a battery/regulator/rectifier. You would use this battery to operate the lights without dimming or if you wanted to add a light bar or lighted whips. In my case my ATC is street legal so it must have a horn and brake lights. When I turn on the lights I'm at the limit of the stock electrical system, the horn and or brake light will not work well. So adding a battery helps with this.
