ended up being offered a 200x frame back i sold a couple years ago. frame, forks, front wheel, brakes, rear suspension with axle, disc and shock. All for 60 bucks. Insold it for 150 2 years ago, his wife has him cleaning and wanted it out of the yard.
not sure what the plan is with it. I have a 200s frame I was going to do something with but I'd rather end up with a running 200x for a little more money.
going to make a list of parts I have and a list I need
motor
headpipe
electrics
throttle
carb
handlebars
200s hubs and rims for the year
rear tires
350x front fender
200s tank ( just to hold gas)
muffler?

Needs
ebay calipers
master cylinders brake hoses
front tire
seat
rear fender (might be trading for a project trike with a 200x fender stuck on it)
chain
probably a lot of other misc parts jim

it's a 84, the frames been cut in 2 places about 1/2 way thru. rear brakes are there. chain guides are there and I have engine mounts. jim

picked up a gas tank with scoops, switch and thumb throttle this afternoon. I've got almost new tires on a set of aluminum Douglas wheels but no hubs, I've got 200s hubs and steel split rims. so swap the tires onto the steelies and not have to buy hubs? Like MrC video, the plastics and seats is what's going to cost $$$. jim

I prefer the 4x110 bolt pattern myself so I would get the 200X hubs. I also prefer the aluminum rims. You could also use hubs from a 300EX, a 400EX, or a 250X (at least the 80's models) just to give you a few more options. There's others that will work too. I just wanted to give you some examples.

looking through my boxes of parts and can't seem to find some of what I thought I had. But I'm finding more of the hard tail parts so I started bolting stuff onto the 85 200s frame. looks like another hardtail is in my future and the 200x will get put on the back burner or if someone local needs it, ill do some horse trading. jim

I think I'd keep all of the 200X parts. That way you don't have to buy them again in the future. Just my opinion but I think that an AutoX is a great machine. Just keep that in mind too.

I'm not going to part it. it just seems like it makes more sense to bolt the 200s back together, still missing plastics and seat on both of them. But the x is missing engine mounts, intake, exhaust, headlight etc. jim

so my buddy calls and asks if I want the seat for the 200x, I go and buy it back and there's the seat brackets, the new seat cover I was looking for. I forgot I gave it to him with the frame. front brackets MIA it might be in my box of junk, maybe not. jim

I am so proud of myself, I passed on a roached 85 200x for $1500, it was hard to do, but I did it.
only lost 2 nights of sleep.

My name is Mrc and I have a problem.

so I get a email from a guy with parts for my 200s build, finally made a trip over and got to yakking for a hour. got a rear fender, seat with brackets, exhaust for my 200s, he wants to build a 200x so heading over in the morning to trade the x for more 200s or 185s parts, he's got a welded suspended 185s frame sitting there, don't need another 1/2 of a trike, we'll see what we can come to a agreement with. The 200s project of mine is coming along pretty quick, won't be perfect but it'll have a seat and fair but complete rear fenders.
on a side note, on the way home, stopped at a yard sale and picked up 80 rounds of surplus 30.06 ammo for $20! jim

You STOLE that ammo! If I was closer, I'd be interested in the suspended 185 frame.

it's a roller, motor, regular 1983 front forks, no plastics or tank. he's trying to talk me into the 185. crazy thing I got all these 200s parts for my project, yet he now doesn't have plastics, or seat for his 200. jim

I've got some Douglas Blue Labels with a 4-130/110 pattern. I don't know if they came that way though. It's kind of an expensive issue putting 110 hubs on several trikes, then if the front is still 130/150 someone would be stuck with a heck of a lot of front wheels after buying 110s for the rears. Then again, selling all those front wheels may recoup half the cost.
