Did a complete rebuild following the excellent topic here, but when I turn my fuel valve on it keeps pissing gas. Figured maybe the float was stuck—it is not. I took out the baffle just in case that was getting in the way or an improper install and it still leaks. Float needle is attached and moving up and down with the float.

Why is this thing leaking gas?! I’m about to take it to the scrap yard I’m so frustrated. 5hrs of work and I can’t figure it out.

Are you sure the drain bowl screw is tight , also make sure the over flow brass tube doesn’t have any cracks or holes .
Did you use a shindy carburetor kit ? most of the cheap China kits are junk .
When you cleaned the float seat hopefully you didn’t use anything abrasive , if that gets scratched the carburetor is junk , I use a q-tip to clean the seat .
