That link just leads to an empty cart.

Were you trying for this: https://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/kawasaki-ignition-system-kit

They don't list one for the KLT160

I think this exact product has been covered before. It still seemed like there's an issue with the timing on the Tecate.

Maybe someone will post a link to the thread.

That's what I was afraid of...non OEM CDI boxes always seem to have a glitch.

That's an entire ignition system, not just a cdi. I dont have one but many people on Facebook have had positive reviews about theirs. The lighting coil option is a game changer for the guys running lights. This ignition has a smaller flywheel than the OEM tecate so it will have quicker throttle response with a little less low end grunt

I realize it's a whole system, but the CDI box is the only thing really non mechanical in a sense. Seems the OEM's always run better. For the price though I would try it. Just hoping for some feedback.

Hey Joe, yes this is agood option for the tecate. My buddy has it on his tecate installed by me so i can give you some feedback. He has it without the rectifier regulator so in this case it is the front bulb that first regulates the voltage and then the rear.I mean that if your front bulb dies then the voltage will blow out the rear.As for the CDI it works just like the oem.Is has the same advance curve, somewhere to 6000 the timing changes so it can work with the opening of the power valves. The flywheel is small and light so you have the characteristics that another member mention above. The flywheel is not keyed. So this is a little difficult for a normal person to install. You must know how an engine works and all about TDC (top dead center) and how to time the engine because you can install the flywheel at any position on the crank.I my self have this kit with the voltage regulator for my tecate but i'm at the beggining of my restoration so i have no feedback on that. You can buy it straight from the HPI (horse power ignition) as it's their ptoduct. They also have this system without lighting coil https://www.hpi.be/item.php?item=068K156
