Front tire options in 22x11-8

Hi all...

I m curious to know what tire you like to run on the front of your 3 wheelers. I have personally tried many different tires and I found my favorite to be the BKT AT119. Looks like a turf tamer. 4 ply rated so not too easy to puncture but not so stiff to hurt your back over rough terrain. Only available from Pete's tire.

Most of the knobby tires are undersized and easy to puncture (Cheng shin, Deestone) or have a flat tread profile and are a rear only (hole shot, razor)

Kenda is phasing out the k284 front max which was my "go to" tire for many years so I have found the BKT AT119 to be the best suited option. I work at a tire store so I have access to almost anything I would ever need.

I have a Hi-Run knobby from TSC on the front of my 175 now. It's the same height/profile as the Carlisles on the rear. It isn't very round though, she shakes pretty good going down the road.

Buying a couple of the Front Maxs' seems like a good future-proof idea. Just put them back, out of the sun and away from any ozone generating devices (brushed electric motors), and they'll be good for years.

Those are possibly the best 22x11x8 front tires that will ever be available.

I've never had too much trouble with punctures on the 2ply tires when using a quality tire sealant. It kind of depends on terrain though. I imagine somewhere with a bunch of slate or shale could be problematic, or in a clear cut, with a bunch of sapling stobs, though I've rode through many of those without a problem. We do have some nasty thorn patches here, where riding a 2ply without a sealant is likely to get a slow leak.

A 2ply on a heavy or powerful trike would be more susceptible to punctures. I can see needing something more robust for those types of machines.

Probably a little overkill but I've got an ITP Mudlite on the front of my 250. It's been on there for years and shows no sign of wear yet.

Anyone ever used the Carlisle Stryker as a front tire before? I got a special deal on a 22x11-8 single. $60

The AT119 I usually get is 90 each plus 50 to ship each pair from Pete's tire. Finances are tight right now so I have a single tire and have a 125 that needs a front tire.

I tried the front max and found that it pushed more than turned. Switched to the Kenda K530 Pathfinder front and have had better grip in the corners.
