View Full Version : Updated pics of my T3 (new pics added last page)
Been slow going, subfreezing temps seem to increase paint drying time from hours to days. :? .. on top of two back to back 80 hour weeks...I've been dying to work on this thing. Finally got a day off to do a little work. That air box is a b*&%* to get in there..
Got it into "semi"-roller stage. The front forks still need to be rebuilt, hopefully this week I'll get to it.
Couldn't find a Finishline +6 axle, so I settled for a Durablue +6 ..atleast it's an oldschool one.

I love the swing arm and frame being white ange! Looks awesome!
thanks for the compliments guys.
Had the frame sandblasted, one can primer, two cans Rustoleum gloss white, then one can clear coat. Hope it holds up.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean!

Awsome colour choice, really gonna be a beauty when you finish her. What colour plastics ya putting on? Is the Champion swingarm an older rare swinger like the CalFab or is it new custom? Are those ice racing tires, look like a great tire.

I love that swingarm! :-D
Champion was another one of the old companies like CalFab. CALFAB's are aluminum and super light, this Champion arm is cromoly (If I remember correctly 4130) so it's not as light as aluminum ones, but it is lighter than the stocker.
Not sure if they made arms for anything other than the T3's.
Tires are just some oldschool style Cheng Shins since Armstrong doesn't exist anymore, it's the closest you can get. They would work really well for ice screws.

Turf Tamers are old school. they haven't changed, only the name of the company who makes them. Nankangs dimpled knobby (turf tamer copy)hasn't changed either. I believe it goes way back.

did you make any progess on it yet its goin to be one of the slickest 85 tecats out there
I have made some more progress.... put the engine in, started on the electrical, tripple clamps are in... exhaust exspansion chamber is on.
I'll take some pics later.
I have to get a tube bent in order for me to use the silencer that I have. The Bassani chamber has a bend in the end that must have worked only w/ their silencers.. so I have to get one fabbed to adapt the two together.
The forks are proving to be a real pain in the arse.
Just waiting on a few small things (sprockets, brake pads etc etc...)
I can't wait, I just dont have much time to work on it between two jobs. When I get home at 11:00pm, I try to go out for an hour and do a little work.
put the front on today. It's so close to being done! I can't wait. Just a couple dumb but essential parts are still on order from the Kawi dealer (it's been weeks!).
enjoy.
