Do the gas tank kits really work or should I just metal condition the inside of the tank and go from there? Anyone ever have any luck doing something else? Thay want $38 for the kit. I sell autobody supplies so I already have metal conditioner and can get some POR15 if it will work.
Thanks, Dan 8)

empty the tank spray it out with ah ouse and put fishtank gravel inside and shake the tank for 5-15 minutes...i hear it works pretty good...if u dont want to buy the fishtank gravel try some of those odds and sods u have in the garage like little bolts from old projects are left over or try using BBs from a bb gun.
if u want it dont fats us e meratic acid
You definitly don't want to put muriatic acid in a gas tank, that stuff is extremely reactant (I sell the stuff at my work). I know sombody that has gotten severly burned by it. Don't use water either because water oxidizes metal and makes it rust even more. I have tried the BB gun solution, and it works decently. Just be concerned that if you have a lip around where the gas cap is, you may get a few BBs stuck in there and may take a little more work to get out. Regular rocks work good too. And definitly kreem it or somthing similiar if you plan on keeping it for awhile.

Radiator shop. No junk will be left in the tank to haunt you later...

Get a small swing chain, and some wd 40, or other stuff. Put it in, and give it the shake.
