what can i do to my 125m to make it have more power and speed

Sell it and buy a more powerful trike? ;P

Seriously though, if it's mostly stock and in reasonable condition, you might be better off selling it, and then try to find a comparable 200m/s. That way you'll have the extra power without all of the work, and you'll spare the 125m.

Failing that . . . uh . . . I'm not really sure. I can't think of anything that would give you a noticeable boost in both power and speed without major work on the motor. The 125 was never really meant to be a high performance machine.

Sorry for not being much help.

my neighbor just picked one up last night for $25. it needs a few things but i was hoping he could swap the motor out for a bigger one. would he be able to? or is that the biggest model with that style of motor mount?

You can't put much more of a bigger motor in them because of the way the engine mounts on the frame and of how the piston goes...Unless you want to do major engine work then theres not too much you can do to it.

There is no bigger motor. That is the biggest in that type ATC. That motor lays down and mounts different than any bigger cc ATC's. The only things I know of is smaller rear or larger front sprocket for speed and vice versa for power and thats only if they are available. Get it breathing better, K&N filter, ported & polished, and exhaust. That seems like it would be kinda crazy for a 125 but hey you'd have a sleeper at least against other 125's.

I would leave it stock and save your money for a faster trike. I would keep the 125 as a back up.

My solution was to buy another trike, a 250SX, and keep the 125Ms as back ups and extra machines for friends. This also gave me suspension, there is an astounding difference!

I would have concerns over how well the frame would handle a bigger engine and the extra power when riding. If you could even get one slung underneath it.

Sounds like you should upgrade, you will love suspension too.

Put aHonda CB200 twin piston in. A half a mill bigger and a lot more compression. A 22mm carb off a Honda XL100 will bolt right up. An exhaust from DG will make it run better as well. Don't shave the head. This only makes your cam chain loosen up and also throws out your cam timing. Apart from these things , contact Powrol about a short rod stroker. They would use the same jig as they use to stroke a 110. Otherwise you can modify a 110 stroker crank to work. This will give these 185's and 200x's fits.

Hey greenhuman,do you think that carb. would mount up to a 110? Because the motors are almost the same. thanx

Yes it will. There is a couple of things you have to do though. You have to ding under the tank a bit to clear the carb cap( dings not seen from the outside) and I think you have to make a spacer about 3mm thick to lift the manifold off the head for float bowl clearance off the case. Also match the carb to the manifold.
