Long time so see..... I located a US 90 that is nice and very original but as usual, all 3 tires are bad. I know the tires are not found these days but wondering what the desirability of one is with 3 bad tires? I assume it would have to be converted to the newer style so I could install rims on it? Any tire options for them other than converting? I am not going to be riding it, just want to get it so that it can be displayed.

Honda had several unique colors for the US90 models. The value is in the balloon tires. Even finding tires that hold their shape is getting hard. If your plan is to display it then do as I've done make stands to keep the rubber tires from touching the ground. Convert it and it now becomes a cool rider.

I was actually thinking about foam filling the tires just to get them to look the part. Not sure it would really work but the tires are junk as they are so worth a shot. We have not come up with a price yet. He may end up wanting to much for it.

Foam filling them might work if they are on a stand but that will depend on how rotted they are

depending on how soft the sidewalls are, filling it full of foam might make the tire get a funky shape to them. jim

Joseph funny thing about that Aquarius Blue US90 it's the bike that got me started into ATC's. It belonged to my high school buddy who was asking me to machine parts for it. Not pictured is another Aquarius Blue I picked up from "manbearpig", might let go.

As we know all ideas / projects have changes, revisions and improvements. My first stand was just bent pipe, then purchased an clever axle stand at local swap meet. Made a front axle stand to get front tire off ground but always had trouble loading without help. Current stands were made so I could load by myself and stage closer to the wall. Stand up on rear tires, hook axle plates and lower back to ground.

The last idea looks good the only thing I think I would change is make the axle saddles out of plastic so they will not scratch the axles

Thought the aluminum wouldn't scratch much, I had a lot of aluminum plate and made them adjustable.

Foam filling works, atleast for smaller tires. Trick is, you need to drill holes in the sidewall and fill the tire while laying flat on the ground so the air pocket is in the side wall instead of along the tread. If they are not to be rode, I suspect you could try to fill through the valve stem, maybe bleeding off the pressure every so often. You won't really have an indication of how "full" the tire is though. If there's already a dry rotted hole in the tire that could be your vent/fill indicator. I suspect ~80-90% full would be ideal so there is an air pocket to give instead of mis-shaping the tire.

For the OP, you can find some rims around with the same bolt pattern as your stock hubs. It seems they were common on the 3x3 and 4x4 machines. I have one that was the front tire on a parts machine I bought, it has held air for 5+ years now and looks somewhat like the US90 tread, but it's a V tread instead of the straight lines.
