i just got my 85 350x and i am thinking of going out to florence oregon to ride on the dunes. I was wondering what kind of sand paddles would work the best for it. any ideas will help. thanks

i borrowed a set of geckos from a friend and used them on my 86 350x. i couldnt keep the front end down. i have used other type of paddles such as sand sharks, surtracks and straight haulers i like the geckos the best myself. good luck

I run Sand Skate II's on 10" rims and they are great! Excellent traction and they corner decent also. Can't go wrong.

Well Howie said Geckos got actually too much grip, and didnt turn the best. I love mine, well just the little sand that they did see. The straight across curved paddles seem to work really well with harder packed sand..........peace

sharks are a cheap immitation of skates.

pay the extra cash and go with "Sand Skate II's"...

skates are THE BEST paddle offered for a 350x

if you can find a used "sand skate" or an old compitition cut paddle grab it, if not, put your cash on "sand skate II" ( its the paddle every paddle manu TRIES to copy)

mine cost $200 mounted .....

but i had the 10 inch rims...

the 10 inch rims had sand sharks on them....

took em off and gave them to a friend with a raptor because like I say....."SHARKS SUCK!"

you might be able to find rims cheaper than $50 ea.

Just picked up a pair of Sand Stars from ITP and Black label Douglas rims package for less than $200 shipped. I got the Sand Stars only because they came in a 22" rear tire (for a DS650) and couldn't find the Sand Skate II's in that size. Rockymountainatv got the package to my door on Friday and I ordered them late Tuesday night......pretty fast.

I say Skat Trak is the best sand tire available. I run hualers and they are very light wieght. They aren't the best for turning but you can do it. I ride trails with mine all the time.

I just priced a set of skat trak EDGE tires from rocky mtn atv. 21/12/8 8 paddles with .160 rims for $220.00 shipped to me.

For a 350x -- should I go with 20" or 22" for sand paddles? Thanks!

well i bought a pair of geckos on 10 in douglas rims from a guy next door that just totaled his 400ex. he had only used them once and then he crashed in the woods leading him into buying a banshee. he painted the rims black y i dont know. I am trying to get the paint off but dont know what to use. anyways his 400ex by itself rolled down a 350ft clif. Totally totaled it. what do u guys think $100 aint to shabby to me?
