A 84 and 85, took these in for a customer sat for 30 years. The one on the right is all there and great shape, still has the tools. The tank has 2” of varnish in it never seen one this bad. Funny thing is it’s like it’s preserved the metal of the tank.

Ugh, that one tank is roached! What are the plans for them from your customer?

At this point coolpool We will try and flush it to see where we are. Honestly it looks like all the gunk is shellacked fuel and not rust. Honestly I won’t know for sure until we get the majority of the crap out of it. It’s to bad because these tanks are in such nice condition on the outside

I had a tank like this. I used electrolysis to remove all the funk still left in after initial hand cleaning. Mine had been stored with lead fuel. Tank came out perfect inside. I keep tank full of fuel and stabilizer, not rusting after a few years.

Not that we can see but the issue is flash rusting it’s almost like it grows sh** in it. So today we cleaned again and coated the inside of bothe tanks.

So the story goes from the guy that brought these to us. He said he purchased a trailer and these two trikes were on said trailer the guy told him he had to take the trikes with the trailer, package deal. He said that one of his boys was riding one and either got seriously hurt or died and the guy parked them and there they sat for 30 years. The 85 has extremely low hours on it. Lights work, all rubbers in place, chain tight, brake hasn’t even been adjusted and all of the nuts and bolts still look brand new. Has the original tool box, tools and pouch. The trunk lid strap is still in place. I’m guessing the kid had an accident on the 84 beings it’s in a bit rougher shape. Honestly in all our years of doing this I don’t think we’ve ever seen a more complete oem trike. How refreshing that is.
