85 250r fuel mixture

hey just wondering what guys are mixing their fuel at. I just picked up a 85 250r all stock and Honda says 20 to 1 seems rich I used to run 32to1 on my 84 250r.Any help would be much appreciated

I've found 32:1 a bit smoky. I mix at 36:1 or 40:1. You can safely go even higher.

Today's oils are much better than in 1985 when that ratio was recommended.

If you are not running high revs for long periods.like sand hill climbing you can safely run maxima k2 at 40 to 1.

32:1 works well for me, not a ton of smoke and safe at high rpms
