Honda Spark Issues

Long time no see for me on this forum. Sold the Tecate but am back trying to make a couple Hondas run for my kids. Currently have an 87 TRX125 that was running earlier today after a carb clean, petcock clean, and battery charge. I put the plastics back on it, had my son come up to go for his first ride on it and it wouldn't start. No spark. I checked some stuff but nothing seemed to make sense to me, its a far cry from a diesel engine, and I need some help figuring this thing out. Now I know this thing has 4 wheels and I am asking on a 3 wheeler board, but I also have an 86 ATC 125M that will be next in line for repairs once I have this fixed. If I need to swap parts from one to the other I can and will, but my wife would prefer the TRX gets fixed before i send my kids out on the death machine. :lol:

EDIT: I am looking for the ignition system specs. I know you can't really test the CDI, but everything else is fair game. I have seen lots of specs that I will use but I was not sure if Honda used the same parts on most of the engines in this era or if they changed stuff depending on displacement or performance level. Also would like to know if I can bypass some of the safety measures temporarily to try and isolate the issue and only order the parts I need. I have a good DMM and I also have an oscilloscope in my toolbox at work if I need to get serious with diag on this thing.

I'd go over everything again probably just a loose ground or connection
