I might be looking for a performance carb for my 1986 atc200x. It has a worked motor....12:1, shaved flywheel, megacycle cam, ported/polished and clutch to handle it. It now has 27mm DG Pd carb. I was told that 30mm Chinese carbs seam to work for people and others put a carb off a crf150r on it. What is everybody running??? I am using a twist throttle also, it might be an issue. I have a few things to do to it before I really ride it, race gas, tires, clean it good, probably try a 13t sprocket(has 14/36 on it), glue the grip on and a proper front master cylinder(400ex one is too touchy). It spins the wheels on my most anything as it is. It also has a cobra pipe w/supertrapp 350x exhaust open end cap, hydraulic clutch, 85 350x triples(steering stops cut down), 83/84 250r front end(rebuilt w/ terry kit), some kind of fox rear shock, rad carrier, 83/84 250r axle, LSR 400ex hubs, 86 trx/atc 250r rear brake made to work, 86 200x front brake, steering stabilzer and small things.

Without knowing any of the specs of it, I'd think that the CRF150R carb would be a good place to start. Especially since you have a twist throttle like the bike does. Personally, I stay away from the Chinese carbs and I always recommend that others do too.

will a crf150r carb work? It looks too big. I was looking at a fcr-mx 32 carb, it looks like it will work, but I can't find how tall it is. I have an adapter piece also, I got it many years ago and it sat on a box.

I’ve had a twist throttle and thumb throttle on my oem carb, so that shouldn’t be an issue. As far as size I do not know with the modifications you have. Christph (spelling?) sent me a link to performance carbs if you look at his post in the Mukini vs Keihin thread.

More than 1guy runs this setup in TT at the NattyBula. Please understand these are Built Engines, never noticed air box or intake mods. I was walking the pits and ended chatting it up with fast Freddy...so he did say it was a stock CRF150R carb.

does the xr200 carb boot work on a 86/87??? It looks like a 83-85 200x type motor.
