Greetings . I Just got this one, had no back brakes ! I took it all apart and replaced the shoes which were totally GONE. So now it stops great , but the brake arm hangs up and wont return to position . Is there supposed to be a return spring somewhere because I didn't see one when I took it apart ? I Looked at a parts diagrams its seems there is supposed to be. My question is , does anyone know if there is and would it be on the outside of the brake drum or the inside ?Frustrated.....

There was a coil return spring inside, on the shaft that rotates or cam's when the brake is applied. It is no longer made.
I make a small bracket that uses 2 bolts that hold the dust cover on, and then use a common 2 inch spring to retract the brake arm.
its simple and effective. I don't have one in the shop right now or I would post a pic.
Point is you need to make it.
