i took the top end off my1983 185 today and was looking at the piston in the cylinder with the rings off and the piston moves from side to side and when i hold it up into a light thiers like a millimeter off space between the the cylinder wall and the piston.i think its the wrong piston the number on the bottom of the piston is 598 dose anyone know if this is the right size piston

Looks like the piston that came out of my 200x, besides the clearance from the piston to the cylinder :D . Believe me...Ive seen worse...i had a motor that the rod snapped on the crank end and the rod is wedged into the crank weights..the cylinder....well lets just say Pieces!!!

how could that have POSSIBLY run?? WOW, I guess that says alot for Honda 4 strokes. My bros T3 was not off that much and it would not run at all.

that piston does expand when it gets hot too...and dthe DAMN PISTON RINGS DEAL WITH THAT!

when i put in new rings on my 225dx, i freaked out too when i saw how much space there was between the cylinder and the pisotn, so i took it to the shop to get looked at, and the guy said thats how its supposed to be, and it runs perfectly fine, so i wouldnt worry about it
