So I having some issues with my 250r. I started it up one night but it was only running for about a minute or two before i turned it off with the kill switch (I flipped it back to the on position). I put the bike in the shed and the next day I started it up pretty easy but after it ran for a minute or two i put it in gear and it died immediately. Since then it wont start at all, any tips on what it might be?

Got it started today have to give it a good amount of throttle during start but idles super poorly and will die. Assuming the carb probably needs to be cleaned our or maybe reed replacement? Spark plug looked fine.

If it only runs with a bit of choke the carb is dirty. Take it apart and make sure you clean all the jets. The ones with all the little sideways holes cause most of the problems. Every one of those little holes must be clear. I've never personally seen a bad reed.
