The key to soldering is a good gun.Yeah those solder joints needed just a few more seconds of heat to make them flow correctly.

I like the Weller soldering guns for stuff that isn't circuit boards

Yeah plus I found on certain joints that tinning the wires first works good.

The chance you take on a solder joint like that is a cold joint

Most of us can smell that picture lol. My solder work is hit or miss, I definitely need a better gun. I liked my cold heat gun when it was new but it slowly got worse over time until it became unusable.
