83 YT175 Tri Moto Pull Start Repair

Hello,

I'm new to the trike world and to the pain that it seems to be acquiring certain parts. I have a 1983 YT175 Tri Moto that is in great condition however the pull start is out of service. The rope wore through the wall of the sheave inside the assembly. The original part # for the part is 3X3-15714-01-00 however this is a discontinued part. Is it possible to replace the "guts" of the recoil start assembly with an aftermarket set up? I would attach a picture of the worn sheave however it seems i do not have those permissions.

YT125 pull starts are the same. Partzilla.com will show you parts that interchange. No aftermarket parts have been made that I've heard of.

This one will fit -yt125 & yt175 use the same sheave

Thanks all. I didn't realize the 125 was compatible. Looks like i'll just bite the bullet next pay.
