Working on a 1984 200s that likes to melt holes in the intake boot. It has happened to 3 different ones I have installed. It always happens after I shut the bike off and it cools down. No idea what causes it, what do you guys think happened?260705

The motor might be on the verge of over heating and just melting it .

Check to see if your exhaust is not plugged up, I had a car with a plugged cat and it did the same thing repeatedly till I opened it up. uhh I meant replaced the cat.

It almost looks torn, not melted. Do you have any pictures of it NOT in the bike?

this pictures is of it uninstalled. It was fine when it went on, but after the bike was run and left for a few hours, the hole was present. i tried some epoxy to fill it, but that failed, it started, but had major vacuum leak and idles at about 3/4 throttle. i'll look into the clogged up exhaust, i was with a friend in his 1988 CR-X when the cat go so hot, that it could not flow anything and it shut down the engine because of lack of flow. (we were going faster than the speedometer could register.....)
