86 200x throttle sticking

Helping a friend work on a 200x he recently bought and after cleaning and reinstalling the carb, the throttle would stick. We found that when both nuts holding it on are tight the throttle has issues. Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this or how it happens. I know that it must make the carb twist somehow making the spot for the slide become contorted.

I have seen over sized O-rings installed at the flange causing the carburetor to crack all the way to the slide .
Inspect closely !

If I had that issue I would lube the cable and inspect for any damage. Also remove the slider in the carb and inspect for any scoring and wet sand if needed. Both slider and carb. Check if correct spring was installed
