Hello everyone. I'm wondering if there is a method to combat a rusty seat pan for my 185S. I've read about this being a persistent problem, with no great solutions. Has anyone come up with something?

Here is the method I used:
Soak in apple cider vinegar.

Wiped it off.

Blasted the rest.

I’d imagine that if the rust went too far, it could fall apart while doing this.

Did you coat it with something afterwards?

Ya, I forgot that part on purpose. Wished I used POR. Next time, maybe. Powder coating is another option.

I figured at least powder coating, or even zinc if you have someone nearby than can plate it. Not much material left in some areas.

That will look brand new when finished. Unfortunately mine is not in that good of condition. I ended up painting it with 2-in-1 Rust Reform & Seal. I'm not sure that will make a difference, but hopefully I'll extend the life of it by some.
