I used to post these trikes dragged home in my 68 el camino. well the el camino went to Sweden so now I borrow my wifes truck.
just picked up a 86 250es off craigslist this afternoon. it needs tires, brake cables or adjusters. it wouldnt start when I looked at it but decided to take a chance. got it home, fired it up after figuring which way the toggle switch for the ignition was in the run position.
well she starts, shifts, and the reverse and headlights even work.
now that it runs, it's time to sell it. crazy huh? jim

yeah, ugly but it does work. the trunk liner isn't cracked. really needs 3 tires, bonded title, brake and cable. it came with extra stock wheels too. doesnt smoke and the thing was priced right, or I think the price was okay. $250. jim
does have a dead battery.

been away from trikes for awhile. I've been seeing crazy asking prices for atcs on craigslist lately. I'm talking what used to be run of the mill 185 or 200s type trikes. is it worth putting money into a utility trike today? last one I had, 250es i traded it for a pistol worth around $500. that trike was a running, titled, working electric start etc 250es. jim

Nice 250es in my area are selling for around 800 - 1400 if you are able to hold out.

I'm making a list of what it needs so everything functions, handle bar switch, choke and brake cable. 3 tires, seat cover. bonded title. it adds up fast but I think it might be worth it. jim

well, first batch of parts is on order. choke cable, rear hand brake cable, handle bar switch for the lights and choke plus a air filter.
threw a ad on craigslist to see if I can find some cheap tires. jim

decided to move the trike from the front to the back, tires hold air for about a minute, cranked it up, aired up the tires and rode it around the street up the alley. shifts good, only got to 3rd. it came with a pair of 22x11x9 wheels and tires I need to swap to the back of the 250 wheels. then I only need 1 tire or maybe a tube for the front. jim

Those tires were included with the trike. I Installed the choke cable to the carb tonight. Next up replace the light choke handle bar switch. Get the used tires swapped around to see how it runs and shifts. Then get a bonded title. after that, splurge on 3 new tires. Jim

Handlebar switch installed. Choke and lights working. left rear handbrake cable swapped and working. Stapled a piece of vynle over tje seat for now. Slimmed the leaky rear tire so both rear tires hold air even though they are only 20x 9". One of the wheel and tire is a stock size set up. Slimed it and its holding air. Going to swap the front tire and call it done for now. The working choke, the trike starts onbthe first kick. Still dont have a battery for it. Jim

front tire swapped, adjusted the brakes. took it down the street. runs great, no smoke, no clunking, shifts good. lights work. thinking of taking it to the dmv and getting a bonded title on it. jim
