I recently purchased a 1981 Honda ATC 200 from a friend. It does need a few things, but it is good condition overall. However, one thing is that when I put it in neutral (or at least, what I think is neutral, according to the indicator by the recoil starter. ) and either go to roll it, or even pull on the rope, it jumps out of neutral, and pops into gear. Even the Indicator moves when it does so, and I can hear the engine turning over.

Any idea?

This is it below. BTW, I know the gas tank is wrong, it's from an 84 200s. It was on there when I bought it. 258834

The stopper that holds the shift drum in place sound like it’s either broken , loose or the spring is broken .

It’s located behind the clutch cover .
