So I'm going to be flat tracking an 85 YT60 I picked up in the ATC 70 class. I need to squeeze as much power out of this thing as possible and I'm a big guy, 290, going on keto and hope to be at least 250 by winter.

What I KNOW I need to do.

A) DG Nationals Pipe
B) remove exhaust restrictor plate
C) Handlebar risers.
D) Wider Pegs
E) Either the 70cc kit with or without a high comp head.
F) Oil pump autolube delete to run with race gas and castor oil (or a high performance 2 stroke oil).
G) New Clutch (any better than stock available? Better clutch springs so its better out of the hole shot?)

The problem is the carb. No saving the factory one, its pitted away and leaks super bad. QT80 Carb? I cant really use a standard VM mikuni due to the intake manifold unless I have an intake manifold made.

[Here's what I do :
CPW.com 18mm carb pod Uni filter Blaster cable
Now depending on pipe jetting varies and mods to the carb are minor.
I cut out the tabs to gain clamping shrink to fit stock manifold. Boysen reeds
I get a pump blockoff and TopEnds from PWonly.com and mix gas and eliminate it.257796

Some simple $20 weld on mild cutting on replacement peg.
Endless Journey cycle ask Bruce for the One Industry pegs.

Do they make a larger manifold? Do you know of any one that can be retrofit to support the larger carb?

Also, do you personally use the 70cc kit?

I didn't know that...Jeff over at CPW was a good guy. It's a kx 60 mikuni carb 18mm. The moped manifold can work but you'll need a spacer plate to raise carb off of case due to the float bowl contact during operation. Stock works fine.
I use the PWonly Topend 70cc kit yes, it moves the plug to center on the head.

VP MS109 is the best bang for your buck as far as making the most hp from a race fuel for less than a bazillion dollars a gallon, but you need to tune your bike to it to get the most out of it.

MAXIMA 927 is one of the best oils for sustained high rpm use.

In my experance they like a 50:1 ratio I do prefer Non E 89* straight fuel. DG pipes as well but remember they are not neighbor friendly. Unless you live next to Competition chainsaw enthusiast. If you go the 18mm carb you may find it rich in the main jet so experiment as you'll need to adjust. You can use a PW80 gas cap with a breather tube as a heads up.
