Oil pump question Honda Big Red

Is there a way to test your oil pump to see if its pumping oil to the top of the head? I just want to make sure its not clogged. I tried pulling the motor over without the cam in and timing chain off. I did not see any oil coming up to where the cam goes.
I had recently cleaned the oil filter rotor, etc and changed the oil. Just want to make sure i didn't miss anything

Assemble motor, then remove spark plug. Crank engine over at least 20-30 times and look through inspection cap on valve cover for drop of oil. If you have been running it and just changed the oil you shouldnt have any reason to worry...not like its gonna clog because of that.
