Greetings ATC maniacs . Its a long damn question to ask the interweb, but here it goes. Will a '85 Honda SX250 gas tank fit a '85 Honda big red 250?

There's a ton on eBay. Lots of used ones under $100 and a brand new plastic tank for $130.

You can make a lot of tanks *work* but the only correct fitment is the ATC250ES tank that I'm aware of. My ugly 250es big red came with like a ATC200S tank on it, the back side had a bracket to lift the rear of the tank up lol.
The first pic is of a 250sx with a 250es tank just set on the frame, it's too big though. Don't mind the 250es front end and rear rack/fenders, the rear fenders are welded on, and the front end was swapped around. I actually bought it thinking it was a 250es till I got home and saw the battery was in the completely wrong spot and saw the welds etc. Ended up being a great parts bike though.
Second pic is of my 250es with the 200s (or similar) tank on it. I've since gotten a 250es with a plastic tank that I swapped over. I don't care much about looks for my riders, I say the OEM metal tanks look the best, but the plastic tanks shouldn't give any issues down the road (no rust and such).
