Could anyone give me some info here. The 86 T3 is fouling plugs really quick and they come out all black. That means it is getting running rich, or the gas mixture has to much oil in it, right? Right now I am running 40:1 in it.

that should be an easy fix. first i would check if it is runing rich or not. find out what mix is right if your not shur. i would say it is runing rich. my old 250 used to do that. should't be a big deal.

Its a big deal if you have to change the plugs every day!

I would think the carb is out of adjustment.

The oil ratio should have a minimal effect especially at a thin 40:1 mix. Most likely something else is to blame... have you recently changed anything? If not then my first thought is to check your air filter. If it is clogged or dirty you will run rich. Most other maladies will make you run lean. Things like air leaks or clogged jets etc...

My 87 was doing this. I rebuilt the whole motor replaced the carb, everything except the stator was replaced because it looked new. Well, it turned out to be the stator and cdi.
