Plenty of other things to check first. Spark plug wire? Snip off a 1/4 " and reinstall the plug cap. Broken wire somewhere? Bad ground? Is that a CDI motor? Coils do go bad but not often. Just gonna take some digging around and a ohm's meter if ya have one.

Coils rarely go bad , almost always the points and condenser .

so if there is fire going to the coil the problem could still be points?

Yep , probably just needs a little more fire :)
It’s a very simple set up .
Pull the recoil and the cage and check the points gap at top dead center . It should be set at 16 thousandths .
Try cleaning the contacts with a piece of sand paper .
I bet you will see a nice big spark after a light sanding.
Make sure your using the OEM coil .

Yup sand paper trick works most the time

Is it a factory 6 volt coil ? Got a picture ?
The later coil wires are removable . I would take it apart and and make sure your connections are good .

forgot to mention I had already removed coil , wire and snipped the end off, I also sanded the coil mount thinking it might not grounded , also cut the wires to the kill switch . have u guys ever seen anyone with a neutral safety switch issue on one of these?

ok got it running got another coil from a friend , and it fired right up , but runs like crap and back fining through carb , think im going to need a sset of points and condenser anyway , its also leaking oil around cover next to spark plug hole ( hopefully just a gasket , thx for all u guys help getting it to firing , now I have to fix the other million things it needs lol
