I finally got most of my collection moved up to the new shop. My little garage in the house was like hoarders,lol . I have alot more work left in here to do. Gonna hang a vintage mx bike from the rafters and put a bar and kitchen in yet amongst more.

Thanks, it's a 38 x 30 with 12ft. Ceilings and an upstairs that's 30x14 with 7 ft . ceiling.

I have to pull my street bike out if I want to easily walk through the garage. Me n the wife worked on the barn today some..can't come soon enough

It may sound silly, but is that what is called a "pole barn"?? I think that may be an option for me, price and size wise...

I am either adding on or building a much larger shop. I would DIE to have all my wheelers out ready to roll like that! I have enough crap or 3 more 86/87 200X, 1 more 350X and a couple 70's. But, I don't want them in my way in ,my 20 x 16 machine shop...

It looks like it is to me. Looking at the picture, you can see the 4x6 treated posts (or "poles") on what looks to be 10' centers and the horizontally run 2x4 nailers for the exterior attachment (steel for example).

My parents have a pole barn, and it is a pretty economical way to build a large structure.

yep it's a pole building I use telephone post for the main post and the one wall has regular 4 by 4 treated post I made an old barn used rough cut siding gambrel rafters.thanks! it's taking me a long time to do I'm doing it myself with some friends it is saving me a lot of money that way but I'm ready for it to be done

How thick of a slab?
What are you heating with?

I'm in the same boat. Doing half my barn this year with a heated slab.

The pex tube is 3/4 inch thick ,I used green board insulation at 1 inch thick, (the thicker the better r rating) ,the spacing of the pex tubing was 18 inch center to center, my cement is 4 inches thick, and I'm going to heat with an outdoor wood /coal burner. Make sure trailprotrailpro pex tubing is the red stuff. That's very important

That's a nice rustic looking new barn. Have you heard of using sand for insulation? I'm trying not to cheap out, but it's tough. This is the most expensive thing I've ever purchased outright lol.

Tonight's project is fixing my f'd up trusses. I thought I could just center them on the walls, and not perfectly butt the truss joint to the edge of the wall. 252746

It's 40x80x14. I own too much crap. 5 bikes in the house, 3 bikes, 2 trikes, and 2 quads in the garage. 4 quads in the shed. 3 bikes, 1 trike and a quad at my mom's. Plus trucks, construction equipment, and shop stuff. My plan is 40x40 heated pad, work area, and 40x40 cold storage.

Here's tonights, and the next few days project. The first picture is correct. The second picture shows the majority of the trusses sitting in the wrong spot on the headers. 252749252750

I like your storage set-up. Would kill to have storage like that. My overcrowded 24 X 22 garage is full to the max. One 16 foot ski boat, one '68 Corvette, one '75 Honda Z50 minibike with a '75 Z50 parts bike, one Hondaline ATV trailer, and 5 Honda ATCs', snowblower and lawnmower plus all the other items that my wife says need to be stored in the garage (bikes, ladders, lawn chairs and the list goes on & on). To get something from the front of the garage - half the garage has to be pulled out onto the driveway. I am pretty sure my neighbours' think I am crazy. :crazy: :lol:
