All right it's time to get your opinions on ceramic coating exhaust pipes on your trikes.
1. Benefits?
2. Keep it cool or not?
3. Any benefits to doing it to anything below 250cc besides looks?
4. Difference between doing it yourself or having a pro shop do it.
5. If you have done it yourself what did you use, how's it holding up?

I had it done on one of my 350x's. It was done as an alternative to paint, that never holds up no matter what. Had it done in the "chrome "color. Looks great. Has held up for a few years now. Looks just like it did when fresh.

These guys do great work and can answer your questions. https://www.jet-hot.com/
The silver will last forever on a 2 stroke due to the low operating temp. Unfortunately on an air cooled 4 stroke the color goes dull and eventually brownish near the head and isn't warrantied for that, but all the other colors are.
They redid a set of pipes for me that had been done in the mid 90's by another place that closed up. After more than 20 years of use on a hot running air cooled twin there were signs of rust, stains and discoloration. Jet Hot stripped the old coating, removed a bunch of scratches and even fixed a dent that I had told them to ignore. My pipes came back like brand new.
Be advised that synthetic oil seems to stain this coating for some reason.

I'm redoing the cosmetic aspects of my old 200X for the kid that bought it.
He was just over here a half hour ago and asked about the pipe paint on the Supertrapp and I convinced him to ceramic coat it this time.
Anybody got a price range they can shoot me? I figured $100 but could be way off base.
Edit: nevermind I used the link Nico put up and they do instant quotes after you answer a few easy questions. Quote was about $150 for the header and cone on the Supertrapp

I recall they use the gigolo quote system and charge by the inch.
