Well after selling my 350x a few years ago (still one of my biggest regrets cause I'll never find one in that condition for that kind of price again) I finally got a little 200x to cruise around on. I've got an '86 TRX350 that my GF can ride and I'll ride the 200x till I can get my hands on another 350! It's pretty rough on the outside but the guy had just rebuilt the motor with a +.25 bore and it seems to run great, starts 1st-2nd kick easily. I did notice the brakes seem to not work at all so I'm gonna look into that, want to get a new seat cover, re-paint the tank and get new plastics.

List of to do's for now (feel free to add any):
Bleed brakes and if that doesn't work get a rebuild kit - I'm also looking to just buy a new front brake master/caliper combo if anyone has one for sale that works
Brake Pads - OEM or EBC
New rear plastics - would like to buy these if someone has a set they're willing to part with
Fork boots
Seat cover or new seat

And my TRX it'll be going with:

Thanks man feels good to be back! Debating on getting Maier fenders for like $230 or OEM with no cracks for like $280, leaning towards OEM cause I just prefer that obviously and I've got no experience with maier

I have an OEM set for my '86 250R and I thought about buying Maier because they're new and shiny and these OEM are scratched up and have a four inch long crack in the back but they are alot more stout that the Maier especially the front fender which has no cracks. Might just polish them up and repair or plastic weld the crack. Plus I can use the OEM rear fender support

Good to see you back bro! Remember, you can use just about any front master cylinder from bikes, trikes, or quads so long as they fit with your handlebar layout.

Nicely done. With a little work - it will shine. Love the trailer too - cool set-up.

Thanks guys!!

So i got to test it a little today and not sure whats up with it. It starts very easily when cold with the choke off and runs well but after a few minutes if you come to a stop it dies. Once that happens its pretty damn hard to start and i usually have to jab the gas as i kick it over. Its got a .25 bore, KN filter and stock exhaust, were at about sea level here so I'm looking for some jetting insight!

First thing's first. I'd check valve clearance. It won't take but ten minutes then you'll know for sure.

Yea I'll do that tomorrow, as far as other things I'm getting my list down to what I need. The front brake master cylinder is completely shot/rotted so that's gotta get replaced, muffler gaskets/studs need to be replaced, carb intake manifold has a crappy repair, throttle cable, kickstarter gasket, chain, sprockets, chain tensioners adjusted, gas tank cushions (these are proving rather difficult to find), and small stuff like grips etc.

One problem I see is JB weld on your intake. May want to make sure there are no leaks around the intake and carb. Another potential issue is the fuel filter. They have a tendency to choke the fuel off at times, especially under full load. I would clean the tank well, get a new in tank fuel filter and run the hose without the in line filter. Also you may want to get a genuine keihin carb and throw that one in the trash.

Yup that's why I posted the pic, I plan on replacing the manifold.

I agree with yeagerb on the carb. I only use OEM. Some people say that these Chinese carbs work fine for a while then start having problems, some say that they are junk from the start, while others say that they never have any issues with them. It's just my opinion, but I think that a lot of the "no issues at all' type of people probably have issues, but just want to brag on the $20 carb they have.

Wow I didn’t even notice that cheap carb! That’s gonna get changed back to a stock carb asap, off to eBay I go.
