My guess is that it is an X as the M and the S models are hardtails.

is there any value to these parts?
I have a 1985 Big Red...dont know if the forks would be an upgrade to my big red...prob not, my big red forks look beefier than these, though probably not as compliant (assuming they worked properly).. I'm looking for a machine for a buddy, the guy said he had the machine but it was all in parts...so I came out to look at it...it didnt have the original engine, so thoughts on a "3-wheeler basket case jigsaw puzzle" are down the tubes. Enough parts for a roller, to me, I cant see giving the guy any more than 50 bucks...then its gonna take up space in my garage.

Hang tight until proper frame is identified. Not a 200X. Sprocket is wrong side. No lower mounts for gas tank.
Thinking early 250R. 2 stroke air.

I'm pretty sure it's a second gen 250R
83-84 ....the shock and link are the giveaway plus right side sprocket
Definitely not a 200X or M or any of the others you asked

Its an 84 250r judging by the rear dogbone link.

OK, thanks for the positive identificatiotn.
Second question: Is this thing worth picking up, if not for anything else, the front forks and triples? I plan on adding a few more to the stable. I"m on the hunt for a 200X, preferably an 85. Or a 250 SX. I'd settle for a nice 200m, as a backup bike to sport around quicker on, as a backup to my 1985 Big Red 250ES, which I pretty much use for work around the cmpound, with the occasional ride to check stuff out. I think i can get the frame as you see, with the forks and wheels for 75.00. Slight rust on the outer fork tubes by triples, but I"m sure I can clean it up.
Or...maybe pilfer engine outa some 250cc bike, or some other bike?
does not include a seat, or any of the plastics.
I may be able to get for 50.00.
washyall think?

If you get it for $50 yeah. You CAN'T lose money on it if you part it out.

Good call. I don't know my R's from a hole in the ground.

Yea it’s an 84 250r. 100%
Considering the prices R’s are going for, buy it. You can sell that rear end and triple your money alone. Since the 83 and 84 rear ends are different people will buy it as a whole. Or if you decide to build it you’ll be in it for next to nothing to start off and it’s basically a roller already.
