I paid $50 for this pipe last year.Guy thought it was a stock pipe because it has heat shield mounts.Those Bills pipes are sweet I watched How its Made episode on Bills pipe.Its on youtube.

I cut out a template for the heat shield.I have some heavy sheet aluminum with holes in it for a heat shield.Im going to trim the template some more.251144

I got alot more rust off the pipe today.I used toilet bowl cleaner the thick type.The front section will need alot more work .The rest is coming along nicely. Another before pic .251145 251146 251147 251148

After 2 more cleanings with toilet bowl rust remover some scrubbing with scotchbrite rust is gone.I wet sanded first with water then with WD 40.and a round with wire wheel looks alot better.251173 251174251175

First test fit of the heat shield. Looks pretty good I hit it quick with a wire wheel. Needs some more work and holes.251321251322

I got the mounting and extra holes in the heat shield. Needs more filing on the edges.I need to get a new torch and high temp clearcoat for the blueing.251368251367

My first attempt at blueing. Iused a map gas torch I think it was to hot and tip was to wide.Next time I will use a propane torch. 251372251373
