For those of you who knew Ol Deuce (Randy Mead):
Bad news from Billings, Mt.
I’m fighting back tears as I write this. Friends, acquaintances, three wheeler community: please reach out to Randy Mead’s wife Barb and show your support for our mutual friend. Ol Deuce is not going to be with us much longer. One of the most interesting human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking to, nicer than anyone could imagine, faster than anyone in the three wheeler community (Bonneville legend), and built some of the most memorable trikes in our community (200x with Yamaha 175 motor with dg head, 86 200x “super X” and his fully suspended HPATC110 and he is responsible for the atc90/110 stem adapter for 200x forks). Please include him and his family in your prayers this evening
Thank you

God bless Randy and his family. Never met him in person but purchased his stem adapter and then found out his love of old Hot Rods. Spent many hours on the phone talking about his Hot Rod business and the many options I could do to mine. We are losing a wonderful person. Praying for Randy and Barb.

I've only had a few dealings with Randy but they were all very pleasent and professional. His builds are top notch. He is a true craftsman. Sending good thoughts to Randy and Barb.

Man that is sad to read. I too enjoyed his knowledge and his awesome attitude he shared with us. His picture in his signature on here(with him and his fleet) has always stuck in my head and always will. We're praying for them.

This is sad news to see after looking up his Super X build to use as a guide for my own build. I Had Randy on facebook and loved seeing his pictures he posted from back in the day. He was a great wealth of knowledge and genuinely good guy and will be missed.

Just hearing about this. Horrible news. Randy was a huge inspiration in every one of my builds. Great guy who never hesitated to assist me with advice. He will be missed. Heaven is a bit faster now and earth is slower. RIP Brother...

I want everyone to know the stem adapters are not gone with our Fallen Member Randy. He had me making them for him for quite a while and I will continue to do so. I just didn't sell them because that was his part and his design. They will still be available if needed and put in the parts store as well. I last saw him in September and had my concerns then as he wasn't out in his shop like he usually was when I came to visit. I do know that he spent quite a bit of time with his children and grand children this last year so I am positive that he was able to leave some very great memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives of him. He was a great man and had a very creative mind. And his humor was top notch if a little dry sometimes. He will be in my mind every time I look at my Tri-Z which was purchased from him. Brandon

Sad news for sure. Randy helped many many folks with his time on Earth. He was on all the three wheeler sites. I remember reading about his hot rods and watching his builds on AF.
I wish some of his content from that site could be reposted as a tribute to Ol Duece here. Whether he was building old cars or trikes he put together some amazing rides. RIP Randy
