My friend called me today and said he has a early honda 90 atc with the balloon tires for sale.
I have heard some of these tires sell for big money (I seen the honda 90 resto on "American restoration"
I have no idea what condition the machine is in, he said it has not run in years, but he will be taking pics.
I havent had any chance research what these machines have been selling for lately, so I was wondering if you all could give me some feedback on price range for the machine:
1). Poor condition price rang
2). Fair condition price range
3). Good condition price range
4). Excellent condition price range.
Thanks in advance!

The money is on the tires. If they have good tread and no dryrot and not overinflated they can bring hundreds of dollars each. Most are dryrot and cracked and don’t hold air. I saw a pair of old Honda 90’s here in Utah a few months back guy was asking around 2k each and they were in nice shape. There are a few on eBay right now for 8-900 that have been resisted numerous times and no sale but they don’t have the balloon tires.

$800-1000. Is that an OEM tire pump I see? Definitively a big selling point if it has the pump.

1). Poor condition price rang $50
2). Fair condition price range $150-$300
3). Good condition price range $500-$1500
4). Excellent condition price range. $2000+
For comparison I sold this bike a little while back on ebay. Started the bid at .99 and it ended at $1,400. Bike went over seas. It was some what of survivor bike with it's original engine.

I'm saying if you can buy that bike for $300-$500 it would be a pretty good deal. If everything checks out.
Let us know how it works out. Good Luck.

I would have to agree with Joe on the price.. I see a few items not stock, light on the front and is that a mud flap I see on the fender? These things can be easily taken off for sure.. like gimmeamidget says the tires will make or break the value for sure. Are looking to flip it? Keep it? Restore?249129
This is a pic I found online

Thanks for the feedback guys . I"m thinking I'll add it to the "project bin"...and eventually restore it? I have a big red 250es which I love allready, was thinking about getting another, say a 200m or 250sx, but I'm intrigued by this machine as its one of the earlies...what is it, maybe a 1971? I love all old 60s and 70s stuff, I may buy it...

You would have to check the VIN. It is a 70-71. They were no definite years on the early ones. 70-71,72-73, then you had model years from 74 on.
The VIN will tell you if it was built early or late. The VIN on the engine will not match the VIN on the frame but should be close.

I agree with Joseph price wise. Value is in the tires, look to hold air but warn. Gas tank is dented, frame/forks probably bent, fiberglass rear fender needs repaired along with seat replaced, motor rebuilt, all these are commonly available and sourced. If in fact as ezmoney1979 states there's an air pump, a collector will pay good money. Still would make someone a good project start at the right price.
