Just bought a 1985 Yamaha 225DX 3 wheeler. It is yellow, with no reverse.
It literally has no choke at all. No choke lever, no choke cable, and no choke installed in the carb (just a gaping hole.)
Amazingly enough, it starts in one pull. But when it starts, it revs up really high (until it is fully warmed up.) Once fully warmed up, the idle pretty much goes back to normal.
Probably a stupid question, but do I need a choke installed in order for it to run right? I'm betting a lot of air is sucked through that big gaping hole where the choke is supposed to be (in the carb.)
Also, does anyone know the default air screw settings for the 225dx? I think it is 1.5 turns out, is that right?
The only other adjustable screw on the outside of the carb is just the idle screw, which is the small knob looking thing, right?
Thanks guys.
