I picked up my first 350x a couple days ago and am super excited!! It has been stored indoors for a long time and the oil and carb are clean, and the frame and swinger have fresh powdercoat. There are two things that I am concerned with before I want to try starting it.

First, I did a compression test and this is what I got. It serms a little high for pump gas to me but I do not know much about 4 strokes. Is it safe to run 93 octane in?

Two, the trans shaft that the front sprocket goes on has about 1/4" of play sliding in and out. Is that acceptable?

Also, is there a good way to clean the outside and inside of this hideous clarke tank? Thanks!

You will be fine on pump gas. If it was 180+ I would think about race gas or race gas blend.

My 350x has about 189lbs of compression. ( was told it has a wiseco 10.25 to 1 piston) and it runs ok on 91 (California premium) but does run better on 100 octane (race / pump blend )

The counter shaft typically has a little in and out play but 1/4" would be excessive and unlikely.
