I just got a 250 engine that was supposed to be from a Honda ATC. It was thrown in with a bunch of other misrepresented stuff to "sweeten the deal"and I sure don't know what it is,,,, please take a look and tell me what it is and if it has any SPECIAL value. It has 1N2345 on case near the external linkages shown in photo. Thanks, W~

Got pics of the head. Looks like a 350x painted silver.

pretty sure its a 91 or 92 250x motor. Not exactly a "deal sweetener" IMO, but to each his own.

If it kicks back could be an xr 250 engine

thanks guys,,,, here's a not so great pic of the head from one side that I took just before I finished sealing it and shelving it someplace that is a pain to get to so I hope this is helpful?... I guess I thought the external linkages would be a giveaway. W~

Definitely not a 350x. I noticed right away that it's a chain drive four stroke. If it's a 250, it's not from an ATC. My guess was TRX 250x.

its a 250x motor, silver and the odd revese gives it away...good motor...heavy as heck big as sin...paper weight in my eyes or $250 on craigslist max.

thanks everybody,,, maybe keep it shelved for the time being and trade it down the road for something or maybe put it in a cart or something like that or maybe I will list it on ebay; there might be somebody restoring a 250x that needs it.....

Do you know anything about this engine? I have two 250X's. One complete, one basket case. The 250X had notorious transmission problems, mostly with first thru third. I'd be interested in parts if you decide to open it up (too expensive to ship the whole engine).
