View Full Version : Okay trike gurus,,, what is this.

My local bike shop guy picked this up and has no clue what it is. No identifyin markings anyhere. 2 stroke, auto oil injection, semi automatic clutch.
Anybody know what the trike is ?

looks like a yamaha yt125 or 175

correction its a 175 the 125's had no front suspension

It looks home made to me. In the last picture, the top and bottom of the triples are different widths and you can where the top of the backbone was welded towards the front. I'd guess that someone lengthened it for some reason, and possibly used at least part of a smaller dirt bike frame on it.

Good eye Jeremy. I too thought the front had been basterdized to some extent but was (and still am) unsure.

I'm going with a YT 175 that was either so bent that the frame had to be cut and re-welded, or a front off another 175 was welded on.

Yep Brendan. I think you're right after looking at pictures of YT175's. I always thought that the forks went all of the up to the top of the triples like the four strokes, but I was wrong. I still think that the back bone looks like it's been rewelded.
