1986 225 DRS. I've been looking for one of these for about a year now. Really wanted a black one but couldn't pass this one up. Needs a carb rebuild. It will start after dumping fuel down the carb but it's at full throttle and dies shortly after.
Needs a front brake lever, a rear grab bar, new tires and a tail light and we should be good for a bit.
Started to restore the plastics, hopefully they turn out ok.

So you went and got it! I like it. Wow, one of those brake levers is in a J shape

Wow. All of the blue ones I've seen are 1985s. They are a pretty good trail machine. I'm not planning to get rid of mine.
Aren't those the tires everyone on here loves so much? Lol

Hondatcs they both are. It almost looks like it was done on purpose this is a different one than I was looking at. The guy actually contacted me. Picked it up for $200. 6bt the front one is lol. The rears are supposedly original. 350fot350 I usually see DXs in blue. These 86 DRSs must be special. $114 for decals

A little money and some elbow grease and you'll have a good trike.

I never recommend using the jets that come in the kit. Sometimes they aren't the right size. The main jet that was in my 350x when I bought it was the stock size at 138. It was visibly smaller than the 135 I bought at the local dealership to use for higher altitudes. After I got back from that trip, I bought a new 138 from the dealer and had WAY more power. It also doesn't suddenly burn out a spark plug while riding any more either. Now I always throw those kit jets away.

Nice. :)
Funny thing about the levers. I have seen that in a couple vids. Not sure why(?) Jets are hit and miss. Where did you get the kit from?

I bought the same bike and put the plastic from a 1985 225 DX on it because a friend had a yellow one back in the day.

Got the kit off of eBay. Had to order a kit for the 250 timberwolf. Keeping the original jets.

Good. That's the way to go. I used a Timberwolf kit in mine.

Update! Just scored some black DR plastics and original "shaft" seat in decent shape. Going to look at them on Saturday.
