Just wanted to see what you guys are doing to store your machines. I have metal and plastic tanks I know about stabil and stuff like that but just want to get it from others.

Keep em out of direct sunlight unless you are out riding them. UV rays ruin everything. All mine get run occasionally,

You can put it in a heated space on plywood. drain all the gas, throw a cover over it. If you want to preserve it, you might need to build a room around it with no way in. Edit: I got that idea from a guy that did that to his brand new Harley, years ago. ;)

My experience is that unless you are packing them away for over a year the best was to avoid problems is to start them up and use them at least once every 3 months, even if it is just a lap around the yard. Longer than that starts to imply draining carbs, flat spotted tires and sticking clutch plates.

If I'm putting something away that won't be used for a year i drain carbs, fill steel tanks and drain plastic ones. Good idea to get the tires up, but I usually just over inflate them. In my case I only have a few vehicals, so I can work the cables and rock them to move the bearings.

Also you should should never park (or use) something with old brake fluid in it as it contains water that seperates and corrodes expensive things.

I know mine will sit at least a month between rides. Sometimes 6 months.
I drain the carbs before I even load up to leave the riding area.
All my tanks are plastic so I just leave the gas in them unless I know they're going to need some work when I get home. In that case, I drain the gas back into the cans.

I've thought about stands to get the tires off the ground since about 1/2 of mine have slow leaks.

My 3 runners get stored in the garage next to my Chevelle.

The projects sit outside under a tarp including some of my tires.

I always keep them in my big shed with the windows blacked out to keep uv out. The ones I use I keep in my shop. For storage I drain the carb and fill with straight fuel store. The metal tank I put fuel conditioner and store. Since I use no ethonal it's ok to keep gas in. I also plug the breather. As for tires it's in a shed so it's on wood but before I had that I always put on wood blocks and always over lithium greased chain and axle
