Ticking noise coming from the engine isn't to load but definitely there, first time I've had one of these trikes and first time I've heard it running, is this normal engine noise or should I be worried, and I just had the top end done and everything appeared to be good and tight

If it's your first one and you're not familiar with them it's very likely you're worried about a normal noise, however I can't say that for certain from here. That's a pretty vague description and even if you elaborated it wouldn't help. Guys post videos sometimes and even that is next to impossible to diagnose not having the machine in person.

Grab a wooden broom handle, or hockey stick and press one end against the engine while running and the other and against your ear. This will identify the location of where any sounds are originating.
My biggest concern if a two-stroke was "ticking" and that ticking rose and fell with RPMs would be the connecting rod. The next area of concern would be piston slap due to excessive wear and while you might get away with running an engine in that condition a lot longer than you would a loose connecting rod bearing, it is still something you'd want to address pretty quickly.
Air cooled larger bore motors tend to radiate the sound through the cooling find, and sound noiser then they really are. My 84 made a similar sound.
