it has new plastic, rust free stock tank, new front tire, 400ex rear tires and rims, dg accelerator exhaust, rebuilt forks, all bearing seam tight, new chain/sprockets. Now the bad, it smokes upon startup and stops after two or three minutes of being run. everythig else on it is stock. the guy wants $1500 and won't go down a penny more. I'm getting what kind of shape it is in from a friend(owner of a shop), I've never seen the bike. I figure it would cost $100 for piston and rings, probably needs new vavle springs $60, valve job, gaskets. the shopowner told me that he would do the top end for $200, piston $100, bore $55. I'm concerned that the cam journals are shot and then would need to have that repaired which = more money. Am I right or crazy to turn it down, my gut tells me I'm right.
